This small but mighty botanical is native to South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana, where it was traditionally used as an adaptogen for strength, vitality, fevers and bouncing back after illness. It was also relied on for managing “wasting diseases” and long-term chronic conditions – hence the common name referencing cancer. It was traditionally used to treat tuberculosis, flu, diabetes and chronic fatigue syndrome.
